Development Manager

Llundon Lawson is a talented, respected and creative fundraiser, arts administrator and artist. The New Jersey native brings his sharp perspective to grant writing, strategic partnership building and donor acquisition to the Garden State Equality team. Llundon began his career as a mortgage broker for a financial technology start-up on Wall Street. Leveraging his understanding of financial wealth, he transitioned to a community-centered career in development and fundraising.

In his tenure as Director of Development at Newark Symphony Hall, Llundon organized and diversified the grants system and donor portfolio. He also collaboratively managed the organization’s State allocated funds and led the team to host its inaugural Spring Gala. Prior to that, Llundon worked as the Development Manager for New Jersey Symphony where he focused on expanding access to the orchestra. He assisted in the rebrand of a Young Professionals program that the organization used to broaden their funding sources and programming initiatives. He also directed donor communications and the international Donor Travel Program. Llundon continues to serve as a Development Consultant to non-profit organizations across New Jersey, New York City and Washington, D.C.

Llundon grew up in Newark, traveling the world with the Newark Boys Chorus School (NBCS) – an independent school for young men. For highschool, he attended The Cambridge School of Weston, a progressive education boarding school in the suburbs of Boston – these culturally diverse experiences nurtured his passion for the arts and community advocacy. His interests led him to pursue a dual Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Arts Administration at Westminster Choir College and Rider University.

Outside of work, Llundon teaches voice, writes music and frolics in nature with his German Short-haired Pointer mix, Tauri.
