Since 2019, Lauren Albrecht has served as Garden State Equality’s Policy Consultant before transitioning to the role of Director of Advocacy & Organizing in 2023. Lauren attended Rutgers University and Thomas Edison State University and holds a B.A. in English and Art History. Lauren is a small business owner and serves in a leadership capacity for several local and statewide political organizations for the past decade.
Lauren has been the recipient of several prestigious awards in LGBTQ advocacy and her commitment to securing rights and representation for New Jersey’s LGBTQ community has led to some notable budgetary and legislative victories, as well as exponential increases in representation.
A lifelong resident of New Jersey, Lauren resides in Wall Township with her family and in her free time she enjoys reading, going to the beach, hiking and running, and travel.
