Ways to Volunteer
Headquarters Support
Help us keep operations running smoothly! Tasks include data entry, preparing mailings, and other essential administrative work that ensures our advocacy programs succeed.
Program Support
Are you passionate about a specific issue? Ongoing program support allows you to lend your expertise or enthusiasm to one of our departments. Opportunities include tasks like translating health equity materials into Spanish or supporting outreach campaigns. Special Events
Be part of the action at our events! Volunteers assist with registration, coat check, raffles, and more. Occasionally, we offer unique roles, like dressing up as a ghostly specter for our Spooky Halloween Fundraiser. Every task ensures our events run seamlessly and leave a lasting impression.
Professional Skills
Do you have a unique skill to offer? From photography at local events to graphic design, we occasionally need volunteers with professional expertise to support specific projects. Let us know if you have a special skill to contribute!
Volunteer Expectations
At Garden State Equality, we strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, including youth, families, seniors, people with disabilities, BIPOC individuals, and other vulnerable communities. Depending on the opportunity, volunteering may require:
- An interview or application process
- Additional training or certification
- A time commitment for certain roles
We encourage all volunteers to attend an orientation to learn about the organization, explore different opportunities, and determine the best fit for your interests, skills, and availability.
